SEASONS - 2010

Steve and I have enjoyed driving through the hill country this year. As we were taking our springtime wildflower photo safari, Steve spotted this great house and I started photographing. We have been back for August and November photos. I hope that we can get a winter picture too.

SUNSET AT THE C.A.F

I took these photos at the Confederate Air Force Museum in Midland Texas. Looking out the hangar doors to the western sky, the sunset beyond the WWII planes was breathtaking

SWALLOWS AT 15 days

The metamorphasis in these bird is amazing to me. Watching them grow has been a joy to me. I am sure that we only a few days until they learn to fly. I'll miss them.

SWALLOWS AT 12 DAYS

I am amazed that each day, these birds look completely different than the day before. This is what they look like on June 12 - approximately 10 days after our first sighting.

THE SWALLOW FAMILY

The latest from our mud swallow friends, Blondie and Dagwood. Their babies just hatched. Poor Mom and Dad.... they spend all their time flying around, catching bugs, feeding the kids, and cleaning the poop.

We have enjoyed watching a mud swallow couple nest on our patio. We are celebrating the creation of two new creatures. Nature is amazing.

West Texas children love the rain! A short afternoon cloudburst gave my grandkids just the right conditions for running barefoot. Happy feet - Happy kids.

TROUBLE IN THE DISTANCE

Steve and I were working in the backyard this beautiful Sunday evening. Toward the West, we began to see clouds building. The lightening strikes became more frequent so I thought I'd give a try at capturing one with my camera. I stood on a chair in the middle of my backyard holding the camera up. After just a few tries, I got the shot I wanted.

MORNING LIGHT

It was a bright, December Sunday morning. The choir was making its way in to rehearse for the worship service. I think that our stained glass window is one of the prettiest I've ever seen, but I had never witnessed the sun's rays bursting through. Luckily, I had my camera.

WALKING IN THE WOODS

Ruidoso, New Mexico is my favorite vacation spot. And there is no place I'd rather be than in the middle of these tall trees to escape from the world. The sun rays gleaming through the trees caught my eyes this particular morning. I can't walk this path without thinking of the greatness of God.

SHARING MY PHOTOS

I am thrilled to hear that my friends and family are stopping by to see my photos. I enjoy sharing them. Maybe soon I'll be able to take a photography class and buy a REAL camera..... I shot these pictures with a Kodak Easy Share!

NATURE'S BEAUTY

I have found that nothing made with human hands can match the beauty of God's handiwork. Everywhere I travel, my camera goes too. Sometimes my road trips take a little longer than expected. Not because of a slow speed, but because of photo breaks along the way.

AH, SWEET LITTLE PUPPY

My granddaughter, Kielyn, loves living things. I got this shot when we were "puppy-sitting" one of my sister's rescue litters. Such sweet innocence.

SAY CHEESE - THE SMILING DRAGONFLY

I can't believe this photo. I was in a nursery in west Odessa looking at Native plants. I saw this dragonfly going from bloom to bloom. He was particularly interested in the blossom next to me. He sat and sat and let me photograph him. I'd like to take the credit for being a fabulous photographer, but I was just lucky.

WILDFLOWER SAFARI 2010

What a great Spring weekend! A road trip with my hubby, Steve, and my friend, Bonnie through the Texas Hill Country in the peak of wildflower season. Friday was a very rainy day and the landscape took on a dreamy appearance. Saturday was perfect! Slightly cloudy, the perfect condition for good photography. Bonnie, Steve and I took hundreds of photos along the Texas roads. The flowers were especially magical around Llano, Johnson City and Fredericksburg. Thanks to our former first lady, Lady Bird Johnson, for her love of Texas and her dedication to beauty. I hope that you enjoy some of our memories of this relaxing and beautiful weekend.
